Corbin Crable Does a Lot of Educational and Volunteer Work

Corbin Crable

Corbin Crable has a significant interest in education. He has a Bachelor’s degree in literature and anthropology and a Master’s Degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from Kansas State University, of course, and he also worked on the college newspaper, the Kansas State Collegian, in a number of editorial positions. However, he also likes to pass on what he knows to others. While at Kansas State working on his Master’s Degree, Corbin Crable was a graduate teaching assistant at the A.Q. Miller School of Journalism and Mass Communications, where he taught Magazine Production when the main professor was unable to teach.

Also at Kansas State, Corbin Crable also wrote a style guide directed at the public relations sector. Corbin also assisted with hosting of conferences at both the state and regional levels. Later, he served as an adjunct professor in the Kansas State Journalism and Media Communications Department for three years, before becoming the department’s coordinator for six years. During his nine years there, he taught a number of courses, including Mass Media in Society , an introductory course on news writing and a course on global journalism. He later served as the faculty adviser for The Campus Ledger, which is Kansas State’s official student-run news publication.

Corbin Crable also likes to give back to his community, which is he volunteers his time whenever possible. For example, he currently serves as a social media coordinator for the Kansas International Film festival, where he attempts to increase both awareness and excitement for that fun annual event, which celebrates the work of filmmakers from around the world. He does this by coordinating the Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages for the organizations and using those to share content with other like organizations.

The Community is Better Off With Corbin Crable

Corbin CrableBecause he has had a long career, Corbin Crable also has a lot of experience in his background, which implies a high level of skill. As a general assignment reporter and editor with the small Johnson County newspaper The Gardner News several years ago, he covered and wrote feature stories, but he also covered other news, especially regarding the local government, especially the school board. Even though this was primary a journalism job, he also helped design the pages for this twice-weekly publication and he uploaded every issue on their website at the end of every production cycle.

Among Corbin Crable’s best attributes seems to be his attention to detail, which probably comes from his extensive editing experience. For example, Corbin served as a copy editor with the Grand Island Independent newspaper in Central Nebraska. There, it could almost be said he was responsible for the entire newspaper. Not only did he edit articles for the local market and articles from the Associated Press for Spelling, grammar, punctuation, style and syntax grammar, but he also designed every front page, as well as pages in the local, opinion and sports sections. He also posted the content for the Independent’s website at the end of the day.

As it stands these days, Corbin Crable is both a freelance web designer and a reporter for the KC Hispanic News in Kansas City, Missouri. In addition to reporting on stories of relevance to the Hispanic community in the Kansas City metropolitan area, he also uses the most advanced computer programs available to design the newspaper’s pages, to set up page spreads and create infographics to accompany his and other reporters’ articles. His articles tend to run to fashion, popular culture and trends, vintage design and collectibles.
